Our Story
The name SilverFalls has been a part of my family since 1947. That’s when my father founded his construction business in Oregon, building roads for the state and for logging companies. His work laid down more than just roads—it planted the seed of craftsmanship and grit that would carry on long after him.
I was born in 1964, the youngest in our family. Just a few years later, in 1967, my dad passed away in a small plane crash during a visit to relatives in Washington. I never got the chance to know him, but the legacy he left behind quietly shaped the course of my life.
In 1973, we moved to Washington state and settled in Lacey. By 1978, I was helping my brother-in-law with his drywall business. For over six years, I learned the trade hands-on—developing a respect for hard work, precision, and showing up for people. In 1985, with encouragement from my oldest brother, I stepped out on my own to start my own drywall company.
My wife and I tossed around names for the new business, and then she said something that stopped us both: “Why not use your dad’s old business name?”

It felt right. Like bringing something full circle. Honoring the past while building something new.
We’ve been proudly serving homeowners since 1985, primarily in Thurston County but also throughout Mason, Pierce, Lewis, King and Grays Harbor counties. For a few years, life took us to Montana after the sudden passing of my oldest brother in 1993. I returned to Washington in 1997 with my two young sons, ready to rebuild once again—this time with them by my side.
They grew up around the business and learned early what matters: do excellent work and people will pass your name along. Referrals aren’t just how we grow—they’re how we earn trust. To everyone who has passed our name to family and friends over the years: thank you.
After returning from Montana, I focused exclusively on custom homes. There’s something deeply rewarding about knowing your work becomes part of someone’s everyday life—walls they’ll raise children within, kitchens where they’ll celebrate, hallways they’ll walk through for decades. It’s personal. It matters.
In 2019 my oldest discovered a passion for woodworking and has since built a professional-grade custom cabinet shop, complete with a large CNC and industry-standard equipment to build cabinets locally.
From my father’s roads to my son’s cabinetry, SilverFalls has always stood for craftsmanship, family, and pride in doing the job right. We’re not just building homes—we’re building something to last.
